Balloons are Everywhere!
It doesn’t matter what party or dance you go to, balloons are always a prominent decoration—sometimes they help create the theme of the event. Usually, dance attendees are greeted at the entrance by a balloon arch to walk under. Aside from the classic balloon-arch entryway, the use of balloons as a decoration can be somewhat overshadowed by other types of decorations. While they don’t have to be the main decoration, balloons can be integrated into many other decorations for parties and dances. Obviously, you’ll want balloons as a part of your photo corner for prom. You can change this up, however, by using a balloon arch or a balloon frame rather than just the standard bunch of balloons tied to a weight. You can also use themed Mylar balloons if you’re decorating for a themed dance—anything from casino-themed to tropical-themed.
The Balloon Tools You Need
Many people don’t realize some of the intricacies involving decorating with party balloons. While you could always call and place a balloon order at a local store, it’s almost more fun to do it yourself and see the result of your hard work. It’s not extremely difficult, either. The basic tools you’ll need are balloons, ribbon, weights, and a helium tank. Both latex and Mylar balloons can be blown up with a helium tank, so you have at your hands all the tools you need to do the majority of the balloon-related decorating for your party or dance. Not only can you create colorful balloon clusters, but you can also use smaller balloons and a simple air pump to create centerpieces for your tables. You can also create fun balloon flowers for guys to give their girls by taking smaller balloons, inflating them with a handheld air pump, and knotting them together at the necks—use a small yellow 5-inch balloon for the center and then five small colored 5-inch balloons for petals. Finally, tie all 6 small balloons to a longer clown balloon (260 Q’s—the long ones that clowns use to make balloon animals and such) for the stem. There you have a flower for all the young men attending your event to give to their girls as a cute favor.
